The Icom IC-R5 scanner is a very useful tool for tuning into radio stations emergency services, military, aircraft, amateur transmissions and also the weather. This receiver has a frequency coverage of 495 kHz - 1309.995 MHz, AM, FM, WFM. Pre-programmed tv and shortwave frequencies make it easy to pick up desireable broadcasts.
This model is robustly designed and so should survive tough weather conditions.
The IC-R5 can be connected to a tv (via an optional cable) for programming and cloning. It has 1250 Memory Channels With alphanumeric naming. 1000 memory, 25 scan edge pairs, 200 auto-write scan memory channels (Max. 100 x 18 banks).
This receiver can be powered in a variety of different ways: the supplied AA rechargeable batteries, Ni-cd power, AA alkaline batteries, or via the DC port. The batteries can be re-charged whilst operating the unit.
